Royal Caribbean: Pre-Trip Preparation

Ship: Mariner of the Seas
Before the Trip tips:

1. Read through your Guest Ticket Booklet - this is sent to your email after your cruise confirmation.

2. Login/Create your MyCruises Account @ https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/mycruises/login.do to view your Cruise Planner, fill out your Online Check-in forms, etc..

3. Make sure you use the Cruise Planner! (below are the 3 items I purchased/reserved)
a. Fine Dining Experience (highly recommended!)
- We are given complimentary fine dining experience for dinner onboard, however reservation is needed thus there's an availability for you to reserve it online to choose a comfortable time slots for your dinner

b. Internet for 2 Devices
- If you can't leave instagram, facebook, or whatsapp you'll need this.
If not, don't bother getting this. Afterall, cruise is meant for disconnecting from the land.

c. Arcade Credits
- This credit is NOT applicable for Casino use, so if you are really going to play video arcade games, you can purchase this. I kinda wasted mine, if you want to know more you may find out here.

4. Find out more of what's included and what's not in the package you purchased @ https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/mariner-of-the-seas/things-to-do

You may refer to this link for the list of included.

5. Decide mode of payment (can be set in Check in form)
The only difference is, credit card payment is bind to your Sea Pass, you will not need to be present at the Guest Counter to clear your bills, the final statement will be outside your room door at the day of departure for your reference.

6. Fill out your check-in details and print out your SetSail Pass and Luggage tags!
I highly recommend to check-in your bigger piece of luggage, just make sure nothing valuable is inside. Moving around with your luggage on carpeted flooring in the ship gets a little tough.
This will also improve the speed of check-in.

Luggage will be placed outside your stateroom after the ship departed from the port. Depending on the time needed for the awesome crew to transport your luggage.

7. Check your Deck check-in time on the Guest Booklet
e.g.
i reached close to 2pm checking in for Deck 2, managed to clear everything and board the ship in 20mins. Fast! :)

8. Make sure there's a formal wear in your luggage! (unless you are sure you do not want to join the formal dinner)
Usually for a 3-5 nights cruise, there will be a formal night where everyone will need to follow formal dress code, like strict formal type, women in cocktail dresses and men in suit, tie, tux.
On formal night, Main Dining Hall will have a performance. The perk is enjoying dinner with performance! How nice is that. I kinda regretted not making the effort to bring my formal wear. It's too intimidating to have everyone dressing their best when i'm not, so Windjammer is the alternative for casual diners!
